When the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foun­da­tion and JW Mar­riott Phuket Resort & Spa announced a com­pe­ti­tion to name the lat­est turtle to be res­cued by and find new home at the foundation’s Turtle Shel­ter, Gecko jumped on the oppor­tu­ni­ty and came up with a suit­able name — Donatel­lo.

The final name was picked by the turtle itself who select­ed it from the final three.

We can’t wait to meet Donatel­lo in per­son!

Stormy mon­soon weath­er made it impos­si­ble for Gecko Nurs­ery School chil­dren to clean the Nai Yang Beach dur­ing this year’s first Gecko Beach Cleanup.

Luck­i­ly, Mar­riott Nai Yang hos­pi­tal­i­ty saved the day!  Kids and par­ents enjoyed a deli­cious break­fasts at the resort’s lob­by lounge with a spec­tac­u­lar view of the bach.

We will be back at Nai Yang to fin­ish the job as soon as the sun comes out!

After weeks of prepa­ra­tions — clean­ing, gar­den­ing, paint­ing and rear­rang­ing — we wel­comed stu­dents back at Gecko Nurs­ery School on Mon­day, August 22. A fan­tas­tic day of meet­ing good old friends and mak­ing new ones. And it;s just the first one in a long line of great days we will be spend­ing togeth­er!
